- I am an artist currently living in Abingdon, Virginia working in oil,acrylic, watercolor and pastel. I also have a section of flower designs from the Secret Garden. I would describe my style as somewhere between naturalism and impressionism. To me,still life is a celebration of the beauty found in common objects, and the pleasure of recreating them as light, form and color. If I can create a seemingly real or natural space for them to live in, then I have given a very fleeting moment of beauty a slightly longer time in which to exist. My very personal belief is that whatever I create for someone else to see should uplift in some way, however small. It is the most simple of messages. I saw something beautiful and would like to share it with those who would appreciate it. This quote from Frederich Nietzsche is one that resonates with me as an artist.
