$85.00 This is my first attempt at using oil again after having given up many years ago. I was allergic to the solvents and the smell. These paints are the new water-soluble oils and they really do mix with and clean up with water. (How do they do that?) I'm happy because they have all the great properties of oil and they also seem to me to dry slightly faster than regular oils. I have another one in the works which I plan to post soon.
I am an artist currently living in Abingdon, Virginia working in oil, acrylic, watercolor and pastel. I also have a section of flower designs from the Secret Garden.
I would describe my style as somewhere between naturalism and impressionism.
To me,still life is a celebration of the beauty found in common objects, and the pleasure of recreating them as light, form and color. If I can create a seemingly real or natural space for them to live in, then I have given a very fleeting moment of beauty a slightly longer time in which to exist. My very personal belief is that whatever I create for someone else to see should uplift in some way, however small. It is the most simple of messages. I saw something beautiful and would like to share it with those who would appreciate it. This quote from Frederich Nietzsche is one that resonates with me as an artist. "The essence of all beautiful art, all great art, is gratitude."
My work is available for purchase. Please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
